Deiniolen<= /span> – March 2007

 

 

The meet at = Deiniolen, in the Gloucestershire Club’s Cefn Goch hut, produced a reasonably good attendance. The weather on Saturday was mostly dry, with cl= ear tops but a cold wind to go with it.

There were t= wo expeditions, one taking in Carnedd y Filiast and Mynydd Perfedd, the other over Elidir Fawr, Foel Goch and Y Garn, descending to a well-timed pick-up at Ogwe= n.

Sunday dawned brightly, but with a forecast of snow later on, so a shorter walk was plann= ed – an ascent of Moel = Meirch, through some extremely wet conditions under foot, and a very strong wind on top. The car was successfully reached about 10 minutes before the horizontal snow and hail rolled in!
