Bewdley and District Mountaineering Club is a small group of mountaineering
enthusiasts based on the towns of Bewdley, Kidderminster and Stourport, about 20 miles from Birmingham. We are BMC affiliated,
but have an informal and friendly atmosphere. The BMC affiliation means that members can obtain discount on climbing or hillwalking
gear from many retailers. We cater for both
climbers and mountain walkers and people of all levels and abilities are welcome to join.
The Club's
main activities are centred around a programme of hut meets (with the occasional camping meet) most of which are in North
Wales or the Lake District, but club members also make arrangements to go further afield, e.g. Scotland or the Alps. There
are also regular visits to the Martley Climbing Wall, about 10 miles from Bewdley where discounted rates apply to Club Members. We meet on the first Thursday of each month at around 8.45pm at The George Hotel (Weatherspoons) in Load
Street, Bewdley.
